# Workspaces

> What a workspace is, switching between several, adding one, and what happens when a workspace is locked.

A **workspace** is one team with its own members, integrations, memory, tasks, chat connection, and billing. Most people belong to one. Consultants, agencies, and anyone with a personal Henry may belong to several.

## Switching

Use the workspace menu in the web app, or **Switch workspace** in the app settings. Each workspace has its own URL.

## Adding a workspace

Choose **Add workspace** from the workspace menu. Give it a **Workspace name** and, optionally, your **Company website** (Henry reads it to learn about your company). The new workspace starts unconnected; connect its Slack or Teams from its dashboard.

<Tip>
  Trying to join a team that already uses Henry? Do not create a new workspace. Ask one of its admins to invite you from **Settings → Members**.
</Tip>

A new business workspace starts a trial and needs its own plan; there is no second free trial for the same person. See [Billing and credits](/user-guide/admin/billing-and-credits).

## Personal and business

A **personal** workspace is for one person and has no invites, no Slack, and no Teams. A **business** workspace is for a team. You can have both. See [Personal Henry](/user-guide/personal/overview).

## Roles

In each workspace you are the **owner**, an **admin**, or a **member**. Admins manage members, integrations policy, billing, chat connections, and security. See [Members and roles](/user-guide/admin/members-and-roles).

## Locked workspaces

A workspace becomes inactive when it has no plan, its trial ended without a plan, a payment failed and the grace period passed, or it was canceled and its credits ran out. Members see a **Workspace inactive** screen and can switch workspace or sign out. Owners and admins see a button to fix billing. See [Billing and credits](/user-guide/admin/billing-and-credits).
